1、基数词加上表示时间、距离、价值或其他度量单位的名词时，常常看成是一个整体，作为主语时谓语动词用单数。如:
①Ten dollars is a price for that hat.（那顶帽子的价格是十美元。）
②Thirty miles is not a long distance.（三十英里不是很长的距离。）
2、但是如果把这些数量概念看作组成数量的个体时，即强调一个一个的个体时，谓语动词用复数。如：
